Literature Text

If I went six feet under
I'd finally find some peace
That nonexistant void
My soul would be released

Just flesh and blood
Skin and bones
That wooden box
My final home

No more worries
No more sorrow
No more fear
Of another tomorrow

No more Jesus
No more Hell
No more twisted truths
To tell

Death and decay
Will set you free
Not from your body
But from you and me

We live to suffer
And suffer to live
But one sweet day
Something will give

Your heart stops beating
Your brain shuts down
You take one last breath
In that hospital gown

The regrets linger on
And your mistakes are faced
But that doesn't matter
They are all erased

The grim reaper holds them
In his skeleton hand
They've got nothing on you
For being a man

Then the thoughts vanish
In a euphoric blur
As you have an opiphany
Of the one true cure

If we were immortal
We'd all be in Hell
I don't have to say it
You can already tell

As the maggots and rot
Take your looks with them
Pray to your God
And say you forgive him

For giving you stress
And giving you hate
For giving you love
And humanity's fate

Because some days we laugh
And some days we cry
But all that matters
Is that we finally die.
